We are pleased to announce that the All India Federation of the Deaf (AIFD) is organizing the Sign Language Training Workshop from 20 to 24 April 2026 at AIFD Campus, New Delhi, India.

The proposed training programme will be conducted by the Dr. Joseph J Murray, President of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) and the Ms. Susana Stiglich, Sign Language Officer of WFD. The workshop will focus on capacity building, strategic advocacy, and in-depth discussions on the constitutional recognition of Indian Sign Language (ISL) under the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India.

This programme holds significant national importance and will provide valuable international expertise directly contributing to strengthening the rights and development of the Deaf community in India.

Participation is exclusively open to representatives of AIFD – affiliated State Associations, State Associations / Organizations currently under consideration for affiliation, and also from NAD bodies.

Only 50 seats are available. Registration is limited to official representatives of affiliated State Associations of AIFD and NAD bodies.
