2nd International Congress of WFD.
Process of AIFD

At the 2nd International Conference of the World Federation of the Deaf at Zagreb (Yugoslavia) in Aug’1955. Indian representative, Shri. Bans Gopal Nigam from Deaf & Dumb Association (which was later merged to Delhi Association of the Deaf) attended and he was elected as Vice President of World Federation of the Deaf.

Vocational Training Centre Photography Institute for the Deaf was set up, later it was absorbed in Multipurpose Training Centre for the Deaf.

Printing Press Institute for the Deaf was set up, it was gifted by Italian Federation of the Deaf, later it was absorbed in Multipurpose Training Centre for the Deaf

All India Sports Council of the Deaf

2nd All India Deaf and Dumb Sports Meet was organised by AIFD. And All India Sports Council of the Deaf was birth as Sports wing of AIFD in Feb.' 1965 by Second Prime Minister of India (Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji).

Mr. Madan M. Vashistha, student of Photography Institute of the Deaf  went to Galladuet University, U.S.A. for higher Studies on a Scholarship which was been supported by AIFD fund.

Gallaudet College (USA)

Gallaudet College (USA) conferred the Honorary Degree of the Doctor of Laws to Mr. D. K. Nandy, Vice President of AIFD at Convocation Meeting in America.
Gallaudet College Alumini Association honoured him with his inclusion in the Association as a Life Member.
